The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

The other week, a tiger came to tea! This book was very popular for the week. We read it every day! The children really enjoyed joining in the telling of the story once they were familiar with it. Plus, they did all kinds of other activities relating to the story.

A giant tiger made an appearance in our classroom. The children loved pouring him cups of tea (and riding on his back!).

You'll notice there's a tiger on the wall as well. The children helped trace, cut out, and paint him! They even made plates of food that he liked in the book, and cups of tea and juice.

"The Tiger Who Came to Tea" was a bit hit, especially when we brought the story to life through role-play and craft activities around the classroom. Children painted their own pictures of tigers as well. We had a tiger up on the top of the easel as inspiration.

I really like using a book as a stimulus for learning. The children really enjoy bringing the story to life, revisiting the story several times in a week, and learning about the characters.
